I. Introduction

The “Fairy Lake” International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is a flagship event initiated and organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), recognized for its significant influence and impact. Centered on gathering cutting-edge technological resources, attracting high-caliber entrepreneurial talents, and connecting with quality venture capital, the Competition aims to optimize the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and accelerate the transformation of scientific research achievements from universities.

Previous competitions have yielded remarkable results, attracting nearly 500 high-quality projects from cities and regions including Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Singapore, and earning high acclaim from participating teams, investors, and the wider community. It was also selected as one of the first official partner competitions under the Shenzhen Kunpeng Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program. With a strong focus on stimulating innovation and discovering early-stage promising projects, the Competition has effectively promoted the conversion of scientific and technological achievements into real productive forces.

Building upon the successful experience of previous editions, the 3rd Competition introduces a dedicated Fund and Incubation Program, forming a dual “Capital + Incubation” support model. It provides comprehensive assistance to early-stage startups, establishing a complete growth pathway from idea generation to commercialization, continuously injecting new momentum into innovation and entrepreneurship across the GBA and advancing high-quality development.
